Shop Steward Corner
Local 8’s Shop Stewards play a vital role in building a strong union workplace and protecting all workers. Stewards represent workers in meetings with management that could lead to discipline, help mobilize co-workers to take action, introduce the union to new employees and much more. The Local 8 Shop Steward Committee plans and hosts monthly steward workshops the fourth Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. by Zoom. For more information contact patrick@opeiu8.org or ida@opeiu8.org.
Shop Steward Events for 2023
All 2023 Shop Steward events will be by Zoom except for the Shop Steward/Leadership Conference, which will be in-person. Participants must register in advance. Registration for each event will open the month before. A Zoom invitation will be emailed to registered participants close to the event date.
