Shop Steward Corner

Local 8’s Shop Stewards play a vital role in building a strong union workplace and protecting all workers. Stewards represent workers in meetings with management that could lead to discipline, help mobilize co-workers to take action, introduce the union to new employees and much more. The Local 8 Shop Steward/Education Committee plans and hosts workshops with training and mentorship monthly on the 3rd Tuesday via Zoom. Shop Steward Events for 2026

All 2026 Shop Steward events will be held via Zoom, except for the Shop Steward/Leadership Conference and the Shop Steward Training en Español which will both be in-person. Participants must register in advance. A Zoom invitation will be emailed to registered participants close to the event date.
