As you know, our PSP or Performance Sharing Program is a bonus program that allows Coalition members, in partnership with Kaiser Permamente, to earn a monetary bonus over the course of the calendar year, for achieving jointly bargained goals to help improve the health and care of all Kaiser Permanente patients.
Unfortunately, Kaiser Permanente did not work in partnership to ensure that you earn the maximum bonus. Despite the lack of partnership, we in KPWA succeeded in achieving 2 out of 4 goals, while also achieving our Regional Operating Margin, which boosted the value of each individual PSP goal from $300 to $700. That means that all Coalition members at KPWA will receive a $1400 PSP payout on their next paycheck (March 13). If Kaiser Permanente had worked in partnership to ensure that all goals were met, your payout would have been $2800.
This bonus is due to your hard work and your hard work alone. We have room to improve, and we are focused on increasing our members’ participation in hitting and surpassing these goals each year.
Coalition members took PSP goals seriously despite inconsistent data and broken processes. But labor alone cannot overcome the absence of partnership behaviors integral to PSP success.
Management doesn’t get to miss partnership obligations all year and then close the books without accountability.
You and your coworkers are the power of our Coalition.
Stay connected with your union.
Talk with your coworkers.
Be ready to take further collective action.
What we build now will shape what we win as we move into preparing for National Bargaining in 2027.
