Our Bargaining Team met with Management for the third time last Monday, July 20. We’re making good progress and have made many tentative agreements.
Key issues we discussed in our last session included:
- Probationary Period – Management wants all employees who transfer departments to have a new probationary period, regardless of how long they’ve worked for Samaritan
- Record of Discipline – Time in employee file and effects on transferring
- Job Posting & Seniority Rights
- PTO, Sick Leave, and Holidays
Significant differences remain between how we and management interpret contract language, but we are getting closer because of the staff experiences we’re sharing at the bargaining table. Thanks to all who took the survey, attended meetings, and continue to engage with our union!
WHAT’S AHEAD
We return to the table next week (Aug. 3) and anticipate we’ll have to fight for our recent proposals on PTO, holidays, probation and, later on, wages.
