Solid Ground – Submit Bargaining Priorities for Next Contract

Our Union contract expires in December, which means it is time to start bargaining for our wage increases and other improvements.

Because we’re a Union, we have a voice in our working conditions with things like PTO, pay, seniority, layoff procedure, and more. Bargaining is how we implement those changes.

Negotiations are a democratic, participatory process. Our bargaining survey is a pivotal tool in getting started. The data collected from our survey is confidential and remains internal to our Union. We use it to set priorities, come up with proposals, and identify issues.

Make your voice heard! The deadline for completion is Aug. 31, 2026.

To take the survey and share your bargaining priorities, please check your email or contact julia@opeiu8.org for the link.

Bargaining Team Nominations

Never forget – WE are the Union. Alongside our Union Representative, Hogarth, we need a diverse team of representatives at Solid Ground to speak directly with management’s team about the changes we need to make to improve our workplace.

If you’re interested in being on the bargaining team, or have a coworker you want to represent you, nominate them to serve on the team! Nominations are collected on the bargaining survey.

Contract Action Team Nominations

Not everyone can or wants to be on the bargaining team, and that is okay! Diversity is a strength. Another way to be involved and support contract negotiations is to be on our Contract Action Team or CAT. The CAT helps us by organizing our coworkers, getting bargaining updates out, and educating coworkers.

Unions are all about collectivity – we can accomplish much more together than any of us can alone. Sign up to get more information about CAT on the bargaining survey.
