Saturday, Feb. 21
6000 Southcenter Blvd, Tukwila
10 am – 2 pm (details below)
As working people across the country are facing uncertainty, attacks on labor rights, and growing economic pressure, one thing is clear: solidarity matters now more than ever!
That’s why the Young Workers Committee (YWC) is inviting you to our Union Hall in Tukwila on Saturday, Feb. 21. We will have an intimate and important conversation with President Sara Franklin followed by a Chili Cook-off in support of our Hardship Fund.

FIRESIDE CHAT
10 am – 12 pm
(intended for members under 40)
This fireside chat is an opportunity to:
- Ask President Franklin questions about her experience as a member leader;
- Learn from a seasoned unionist about organizing and leading in challenging times;
- Connect and build power with fellow Local 8 YWC members.
Light refreshments will be provided. Use the RSVP link to submit your questions ahead of time.
CHILI COOK-OFF
12 – 2 pm
(open to all!)
In solidarity with the Hardship Fund Committee, and in recognition that the fund has been depleted, we will also be raising money to support union siblings facing unexpected hardship. Join us for the Chili Cook-Off at noon.
Bring your best chili to compete, or come help judge! Every dollar helps us show up for one another when it matters most. The committee recommends a donation of $15, if you’re able.
When we organize and invest in one another, we build real power. We hope you’ll join us.
