Join us for our annual Summer Social! This year, we’re volunteering at Solid Ground’s Marra Farm, led by YWC’s own Bela Sanchez. Spend a few hours in nature, give back to our community, share a meal, and get to know fellow young OPEIU 8 members.
Whether you recently became a member, have never attended an event, or you’ve joined YWC before, we would love to see you there.
We will provide lunch and union swag. Just bring yourself and wear comfy clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

SEPTEMBER MEMBERSHIP ASSEMBLY MEETING

This year’s September Membership Assembly will be held in Vancouver.
ALL members are encouraged to join. This is where we conduct our union business. Help shape our priorities and decide what OPEIU Local 8’s future looks like, together.
This is a great opportunity to meet other members, connect with your colleagues in a union setting, and build solidarity. Remember: solidarity is our strength! In times like these, we need to come together more than ever to strengthen our network. The union is only as strong as we make it.

Do you need to stay overnight? Assembly participants need to make their own hotel reservation no later than Tuesday, Aug. 25 to secure the Union’s special rate. To book, click here.

Hardship Fundraiser:
Special Film Screening of Bread and Roses (2000)The Hardship Fundraising Committee will be hosting a film screening of Bread and Roses (2000) on Friday, September 25. Join us at the OPEIU 11 Hall (3815 NW Columbia St., Vancouver) from 6 – 8 PM.
A $20 suggested donation will include your entry, dinner, and drink. Extra snacks, popcorn, and drinks will be available for purchase. All proceeds will go to benefit our Hardship Fund.
